Washington—The Trucking Cares Foundation, the trucking industry’s charitable arm, donated $15,000 to the St. Christopher Truckers Relief Fund, a non-profit dedicated to supporting the families of truckers who have been sidelined due to injuries or illnesses.

“Trucking is more than an industry—it is a family.  Truckers look out for one another, and when one of our family members falls on hard times, we extend our full support,” said TCF Chairman Greg Owen, head coach of Ability Tri-Modal.  “From delivering the products that Americans depend on each day to transporting humanitarian relief when disasters strike, truck drivers always have our backs, and the St. Christopher Fund has theirs.  The Trucking Cares Foundation is proud to be a part of their noble mission to provide financial assistance to trucking families when they need it most.”

“The trucking industry is built on community, and the Trucking Cares Foundation continues to show what it means to care for our own,” said Courtney Niemann, Executive Director of the St. Christopher Truckers Relief Fund. “Their generosity allows us to offer peace of mind to drivers and families facing medical crises. We are honored to partner with an organization so deeply committed to supporting the men and women who keep America moving.”

The St. Christopher Truckers Relief Fund, founded in 2007, provides financial assistance to Class A CDL over-the-road truck drivers when an illness or injury forces them out of work.  Over the past 15 years, the St. Christopher Fund has helped over 4,100 truckers cover over $5.3 million in necessary household expenses such as rent and mortgage payments, utility bills, vehicle loans, and insurance.  The organization also offers free preventative health and wellness initiatives such as diabetes prevention, smoking cessation, vaccines, cancer screening, and chronic disease management.
